Stabilization of the subsided road section, compaction of the soil and increasing the bearing capacity
THE PROBLEM
A subsidence occurred in a recently completed road section in Jüri, a small town for unknown reasons, causing the asphalt to collapse in a 1.5 m radius. In the event of using traditional method, the entire subsidence area would have been excavated and the soil newly compacted. That would have taken at least two days and involved the exploitation of heavy-duty machinery.
WORK PROCESS WITH URETEK TECHNOLOGY
The client decided to use URETEK technology. Subsidence was filled with sand; concrete blocks were placed on top of the subsidence to achieve maximum soil compaction; and geopolymer was injected into the soil.
THE RESULT
The entire process took two hours and no new problems have been reported.
