Stopping the subsidence of the staircase and stabilising the foundation of an apartment building
THE PROBLEM
Did you know that even apartment building staircases can subside and cause risk to the building and people living in there?
When the cracks start to appear on the walls it is time to contact a specialist to solve this subsidence problem.
The staircase of the apartment building began to subside. It was caused by the rainwater washing away fine particles in the subsoil, damaging the soil’s bearing capacity. This caused cracks in the interior walls of the staircase and partial separation at the stair joints.
Future subsidence could have caused a risk where the staircase leading to the second floor would become unsafe to use.
WORK PROCESS WITH URETEK TECHNOLOGY
To solve this problem, our technical team injected patented URETEK geopolymer resin into the foundation of the supporting walls which were subsided and lifted the foundation back to its original height. Therefore, stabilised the whole building’s structure and ensured the security of the building.
THE RESULT
The work was completed in one day. Our expert advised the customer to improve their rainwater drainage around the extended section of the staircase to avoid future problems and subsidence.
