Strengthening the foundation of a private house and compacting the soil
THE PROBLEM
The rainwater drainage gutters of the private house were not routed away from the corners of the house, which caused rainwater to flow under the house. Over time, the water found its way underneath the foundation soffit, taking the soil with it. As a result, gaps appeared under the foundation, which in turn caused the load-bearing structures of the building to sink and cracks to appear in the walls.
WORK PROCESS WITH URETEK TECHNOLOGY
URETEK Baltic specialist assessed the situation on the spot and found the right solution for the customer. URETEK technology was used to fill the voids under the foundation, restore the soil-bearing capacity and raise the foundation back to the original design height.
The conventional method would have required excavation of the entire perimeter of the house to stabilise the foundation, which would have taken several days and added the cost of excavation equipment. With URETEK technology, no excavation was required and the client’s landscaping and yard remain intact.
THE RESULT
URETEK technology was used to fill the voids under the foundation, restore the soil-bearing capacity and raise the foundation back to the original design height.
URETEK Baltic technical team completed the job in 3.5 hours – without disrupting the client’s daily life and activities.
