Fireplace subsoil stabilisation and restoration of its bearing capacity
THE PROBLEM
The customer had a fireplace installed in the living room, which after some time started to subside. Upon closer inspection of the situation on the spot, it turned out that the reason was the subsidence of the floor slab under the fireplace, due to the weight of the fireplace.
WORK PROCESS WITH URETEK TECHNOLOGY
To solve the problem, it was necessary to improve the bearing capacity of the subsoil under the floor slab. Our technical team injected URETEK geopolymer resin into the soil through 14 mm diameter drill holes, which restored its bearing capacity and ensured the stability of the fireplace. At the same time, the floor slab was raised back to its original height and thus the fireplace was straightened again.
THE RESULT
Our technical team completed the soil and fireplace stabilisation work within 2 hours. The customer did not have to make any preparations before or carry out any repairs after URETEK Baltic work in his home. The soil under the fireplace was stabilised and its bearing capacity restored.
