Electronic shop soil subsidence and compaction
THE PROBLEM
Two years after the completion of the building, the customer noticed that some cracks inside the building appeared and the inner doors couldn’t close properly. The expertise was ordered, which determined that in the area of 462 sq. m. there is subsidence of soil. The reason for that was a certain peat layer under the construction of the floor and inner walls. Decomposition of that soil layer has caused significant subsidence, which in some areas reached almost 9 cm. Also, the subsidence of the floor structure caused rain drainage pipes to come out of each other and cause additional water damage under the floor construction.
WORK PROCESS WITH URETEK TECHNOLOGY
As the shop was working full time, there wasn’t a possibility to demolish the floors and do everything from scratch. The prolonged closure of the shop could have cost the customer significant financial losses and additional unforeseen expenses. That’s why, with cooperation with the independent building experts, the customer chose to consider the URETEK Baltic solution, as it was the least disturbing one.
THE RESULT
The job was done in 4 days. During that time floor construction and inner walls were raised significantly. The inner doors became operational again and the majority of the cracks fully closed. Whilst performing the job, the shop was fully operational and there were no disturbances to its customers.
